H O M E

I am a German married to an American and currently live in Ireland. “Jacob Schriftman” is a pen name I adopted for some of my books because people don’t know how to pronounce my real name, which is Jokim Schnoebbe.

My writings are as diverse as my own literary taste, ranging from YA Fantasy (The Crack Beneath the Worlds) to theology (The C. S. Lewis Book on the Bible), allegory (Job’s Wager), picture books (Loving-Cuddly-Tight Zeit) and philosophical fiction (Ich, nackt im Universum).

More books are forthcoming, because – as Hilaire Belloc wrote about writing – “when you have done, something will be added to the world, and little destroyed.”

Apart from writing, I take care of my wife and little children, read books, paint pictures, work out, and like to travel. Ah yes, I’m also a public speaker on occasion.

You may read a not entirely serious account of my upbringing here. Or go to my blog for more current bits of what's on my mind.
